Garden of the Gods : Old Colorado City Trail

Trail:Old Colorado City Trail
View: 8 out of 10 (Able to see Pikes Peak – 14,110 ft.)
Difficulty:Wide trails made it easy for Gooner to take a turn at the switchbacks.
Overall Enjoyment: We had a GREAT time! CLEARLY! Although I came away with a sunburn. SPF 30 didn’t seem to matter!
Elevation: 6,400 ft
The trail SAID Old Colorado Trail, but that ended up just ending in brush, so we ended up on at least FOUR other trails.
Gooner LOVED the new backpack.

The rocks were amazing!
Gooner decided she wanted to summit! But fell MANY times in the process.
This family enjoyed the hike!!!
And then spent some MAJORLY needed time in the spa!

  1. Love it! W and I went to Pikes Place in college and love it. We must get back there plus my all time favorite Starbucks is locates there 🙂 oh and one of my favorite families lives near there too! So hoping your trip works out I am so excited for our reunion

  2. Cool beans, man! Looks like you guys had a blast. (That pack is pretty awesome!) My fam was just up there this weekend delivering some ATV’s to their friends. We alllllmost went, too, but it was such a short trip we nixed it. My poor Mom hasn’t been above Okie sea-level in toooo long, she got so sick at the top of Pikes Peak.

    Miss you too, friend!

  3. Love the views! We haven’t used our backpack as much as we thought we would since I’ve carried Ellie in the Baby K’Tan a few times. It distributes the wait different and is extremely comfortable. These days, Ellie likes to be walking like the big kids do.

  4. Clarissa

This is on my list of things to do later this year. It looks like you all had fun!

  5. The spa definitely calls my name after a good long hike!

  6. Your girl looks so cute hiking! We are going to Glacier National Park this summer and the boys are excited to hike a little bit! (I will be excited once we get there and I”m covered in sunscreen and bug spray!)

  7. I’ve been to the top of Pike’s Peak before! That’s so fun that you get to live and breathe the mountains. I want to go back!

    Loved the pictures!

  8. AHHHHHH!! So cool! LOVE your pictures, and that you guys are hiking, and everything. SO great. We were going to hike on Monday, but we had thunderstorms and torrential downpours. I’m wondering if Spring is ever going to get here, never mind Summer!
